Family of Mahan Sangha

With a vision to address all public issues and human development, Mahan Sangha has a unique design of its core committee. The field works were distributed to specific wings to work for the society by experienced guidance. Various wings working within the structure of Mahan Sangha are:-

Women's Wing: To generate self employment among women, our Women Wing every year conducts skill Development programmes for rural unemployed women in different Blocks. The local Tailor Masters and Experts in embroidery & Crush stitch, doll making engaged in training with a little amount of honorarium as trainers. Some of our life members donated for this training. Now various trainees are engaged in some places earning their livelihood and some have their own business in their house. This year we could give training to 100 women from  blocks and Berhampur ULB because of the sincerity and dedication of our women wing.
 
Cultural Wing: We have conducted every year Berhampur Mahostav in Khalikote (A) College Stadium, Berhampur this year, inviting many artists from different disciplines like folk song, dance and art organizations to exhibit their talent. The Mahotsav was organized with support of renowned NGOs, Eminent Citizens, Advocates, Professors, Doctors, Writers and intellectual of the South Odisha. A big gathering was their continuing for 7 days with the presence of many dignitaries as Guest. We also celebrated many festivals in the premises of Biswaniketan inviting local people.
 
Sports Wing: Our sports wing conducted sports programmes in village and block level for the rural youth. Competitions were arranged for Volley Ball, Kabadi & athletics. Certificates & Shields were given to the winners by eminent sports persons to encourage the sports people. We have also distributed sports materials like cricket bats, badminton, carom and volleyball and net to sports clubs this year.

Literary Wing: Regularly our members publish literatures in newspapers to sensitize the public about many social issues and their analysis. We strongly prohibit tobacco & liquor consumption, social discrimination of minority groups, injustice on any social ground. Hence many members of Mahan Sangha who are also eminent writers raised their voice by writing columns on identity of adolescents in the society, changed structures of Indian family, mythologies, changed behavior of youth towards patriotism, health care, care in old age, and so on. Many leading news papers helped us from years to publish these articles and serve the people. We are also maintaining a good library with daily news papers and journals in the head office.

Youth Wing: Youth wing of Mahan Sangha always see a step forward to find the basic needs and problems of the Youth. We carried out many Youth Leadership camps, Community Development programmes and Sports events to sensitize them them about the importance of discipline, social & mental health for their overall progress. We also tried in our level to train them for their capacity development and self employment. Also our youth wing always ready for give service to natural calamity victims.

 

Environment Wing: Every year we conduct mass tree plantation in coordination with forest dept. and BDA. Through our programmes on Protection of Environment we visit extensively throughout Ganjam district and distribute saplings to the village youth and also educate them about sanitation. We conduct meetings with the people and discuss with them about village cleaning, stop open   
defecation, individual household latrine scheme under SBM (G), use of dustbin, waste management, production of bio-fertilizer, importance of agriculture, tree plantation, herbal medicinal plants, floriculture & sustaining the village sanitation committee. This year we had planted 300 nos of seedlings and taking care.

BISWANIKETAN : It is an old age home established and maintained well by the Mahan Sangha as the sister concern organization from the year 1990 and now 20 persons (male and female) staying here leaving their children. They are availing all homely facilities and social identity through this home. We always invite the old age persons who are not economically well and not getting care from their children to stay here. We observe many important days and festivals in the premises of Biswaniketan and invite the local people.

Members ( male and female with youth):  from 1985 to since ending of this finical year we had 148 life members with 68 general members. Among them advocates, doctors., professor, lecture, teacher, writer, journalist, business man are actively participant and cooper our organization programee.
